Rural idyll around Meppen

There is a true authentic holiday feeling around the idyllic town of Meppen in Emsland. The district town offers many exciting leisure activities – from a refreshing visit to the Emsbad to the Archeology Museum at the Koppelschleuse, which shows clear and child-friendly finds from the Stone Age and the Middle Ages. There is a full load of action in the “Springmaus” children’s play area in the Sögel, however if you like things more quiet a bike tour through the tranquil area around Meppen is just the ticket.

  • Tip: A canoe tour on the Hase.

Canoe & cinema in Löningen

A real insider tip in Löningen is the small but fine cinema “Lilo Service – Filmtheater” and the cinema technology collection of Dr. Heinz Dobelmann. Here you can experience historical technology from the beginnings of cinema. For a sporty change, dive into the heated outdoor wave pool in Löningen.

  • Tip: You can go canoeing on the Hase.

Active rest in Artland

Sporty and on the move around Quakenbrück: Whether it’s a handcar ( hand pump trolley) or swimming – as a family you can really work out in Artland and spend a lot of time out and about in the fresh air. The outdoor pool in Quakenbrück offers even more fun and games. Bike tours invite you to explore the history of the region and its unique half-timbered houses and to actively experience nature.

  • Tip: A game of easy swin golf on the ‘Gut Vehr’ estate will get you going. There is also a natural playground in the courtyard with plenty of space to run around.

Fun & action around the Alfsee

There’s a lot going on around the Alfsee: whether it’s a play area, lido or maze – the whole family will be active and have a lot fun here. In the Bullermeck indoor play area it’s time to romp, romp and romp again. Pure beach feeling with sand, sun and fresh air awaits you at the Alfsee lido. Here you also have the opportunity to go water skiing. A visit to the largest round maze in Germany will put your sense of direction to the test. If you have figured it out well, you can do another round through the adventure land with its many play options.

  • Tip: There are canoe tours here too

Living history in the Varus Region Bramsche

On the ways and paths of history: In the Kalkriese Museum and Park you can experience close up how the Romans and Germans fought in the Varus Battle. The Darnsee natural outdoor pool offers a welcome way to cool down. The rural surroundings are made for gentle relaxation, but ambitious cyclists will also get their money’s worth with longer tours between the Wiehengebirge and the flat land of the Varus region.

  • Tip: Canoe tours are also possible here!

Around Fürstenau

In Fürstenau, with the historic castle on the island, the city gates and the historic houses in the old town, there is a lot of mystery to explore – for example the official prison, which is now a hotel, or the north-east bastion that you can walk through. Nature also has a lot to offer here. The outdoor pool promises cooling, relaxation and action

You can get the address of meeting points, as well as the telephone numbers and, if necessary, the opening times of sights at the reception.
